We’re here to give you a little recap of the work we have been doing in our communities!
First up, several Fins in our LA office had the opportunity to participate in a 5k Heart Walk in downtown Long Beach (and to sport swanky Pariveda headbands) after raising $2475 for the American Heart Association!
Our New York Fins stayed active and participated in a 30-mile bike ride around the island of Manhattan to support Bike MS NYC. Three Fins-Tony, Julio, and Jack completed the ride, all hitting Personal Records (PRs) for the route! A huge thanks goes to the generous contributions of friends, family, and Fins, the team raised $1,465!
Last but not least for our Give Back Round Up- Last weekend, Pariveda Seattle participated for the 3rd time in the annual Seattle Give Camp. Give Camp is a weekend-long event where software developers, designers, and database administrators donate their time to create custom software for non-profit organizations. This year, we upped our level of participation and were able to deliver several complete solutions for two different clients which required a dozen Fins to give up their entire weekend and work hard from Friday night through Sunday night!
Fins completed a project for The Global Foundation for Children With Hearing Loss and for KCSARC
The Global Foundation for Children With Hearing Loss aims to make a direct and lasting impact on the futures of thousands of deaf and hard of hearing children around the world by providing them with access to the hearing technology, education, and local resources they need to become contributing members of society. Fins delivered 1x custom web application, a confluence site, and a set of comprehensive wireframes for a future project
The King Country Sexual Assault Resource Center created the website 100Conversations.org to empower both young people and adults to have difficult conversations about sex, giving tips and discussion points to help them get started in some meaningful conversations. KCSARC asked us to create a mobile version of that website in order to make the conversations even easier to get to and reference.
Fins created a cross-platform (over delivered) application using Xamarin forms which included all of the website content and a new search feature to further help explore the conversations.
